We are always glad to partner with organisations to set up new centres, and we welcome new volunteers for our National Recovery Programme as well as for our local teams. No! We consider, however, that it is only through a holistic programme of support that lasting recovery can be achieved and sustained. Therefore, we seek to support individuals willing to engage with our entire programme. Although the recovery support we offer is from an explicitly Christian perspective, we welcome those of any or no faith background. We recognise that many people struggling with addiction (such as attending AA meetings) are already on a spiritual route to recovery, having found the need to surrender to a “Higher Power” to find freedom.
We believe this “Higher Power” to be Jesus, the One who can provide true healing, freedom, love, and acceptance. Nevertheless, we are also happy to signpost people to other (non-faith based) support services where these may be more appropriate.
We aim to provide support to all those struggling with any form of addiction or compulsive behaviour (gambling, sex/pornography addiction etc.), including drinking or using drugs at a low enough level to not be physically dependent on them. This includes providing the spiritual and community support we offer, primarily through our Recovery Groups, and may also include liaison with other clinicians for relapse-prevention medication (such as Antabuse). We also offer drug and/or alcohol testing as part of a personal Recovery Plan.
We recognise that lasting freedom can only be found by those who are genuinely pursuing recovery for themselves. Therefore, we encourage individuals to engage with our support on their own initiative for a short time before arranging for a detox. But, we do gladly take referrals from family and friends on behalf of the individual. We are pleased to work with the individual’s existing support network, and to support loved ones to be involved in planned and structured support throughout the recovery journey.
Thanks to KEYS my life has drastically improved. I was dying in all ways – physically, mentally and spiritually. Now I am alive and I am saved. I have never known what is like to have someone believe in me.
