Lauched - KEYS York
We are excited to announce that KEYS has partnered with St Thomas' Church, York.
Anne is the Community and Pastoral Team Leader at St Thomas' and is the KEYS Centre Coordinator, she writes:
"Interestingly, this journey began with a dream. Late last year, a leader from another church in York emailed our vicar to share a dream he had about our church. In his dream, he saw our church filled with all kinds of people—many of whom were broken, sick, dealing with addictions, or had been in prison. On the same night he had this dream, I was praying about whether God was calling our church, St Thomas in York, to partner with KEYS. His dream felt like a confirmation, so we took the plunge and got the ball rolling!
Our church's location, right next to York Probation Service and just a short walk from a homeless hostel, puts us in a unique position to help many people in need. We have always believed in the power of transformation and are grateful to have a structured way to assist people on their journey to recovery. We look forward to the positive changes this partnership will bring and are eager to see the impact it will have on our community. Thank you to everyone who has supported us in making this happen"
It's been a delight to work with Anne and her team of volunteers in setting up KEYS York. They launched their first recovery group on 18th November and are building a strong and supportive recovery community which is steadily growing. We enjoyed meeting the passionate and dedicated team at our recent KEYS team day in London and wish them all the very best as they move forward with KEYS.
